Teach For America and Harvard Graduate School of Education Partner to Empower Educators with Professional Growth Opportunities

A new collaboration provides TFA alumni and corps members with access to high-quality leadership development programs, advancing career pathways in education.

NEW YORK, March 27, 2025—Teach For America (TFA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), designed to expand career development and leadership training for TFA’s network of more than 66,000 alumni and corps members.

Through this partnership, TFA alumni and corps members will receive a 10% discount on four HGSE online certificate programs, equipping them with cutting-edge skills to drive impact in classrooms, schools, and education systems nationwide.

This initiative builds upon the success of TFA’s Rural School Leadership Academy (RSLA) fellows, who originally piloted participation in these Harvard certificate courses. With this expansion, all TFA alumni and corps members now have access to high-quality professional learning—particularly those in rural communities, where leadership development opportunities are often scarce.

"For over 50 years, Professional Education at HGSE has been a pioneer in educational professional development, offering programs that are deeply rooted in the latest research and practical application," said Jonathan Lehrich, Interim Managing Director of Professional Education at HGSE. "We are thrilled to partner with Teach For America to extend these transformative educational opportunities to its dedicated network of educators and leaders."

TFA’s alumni and corps members can apply their discount to the following HGSE certificate programs:

  • Instructional Leadership Certificate (ILC): Designed for teachers, instructional coaches, and department leads to enhance leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Certificate in Early Education Leadership (CEEL): Tailored for early education administrators and advocates to advance management and leadership in early learning environments.
  • Certificate in School Management and Leadership (CSML): Focuses on integrating educational and business management practices to improve K-12 school leadership.
  • Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership (CAEL): Intended for system-level leaders to deepen strategic leadership skills and address complex educational challenges.

"This partnership reflects our shared mission with HGSE to foster educational leadership that makes a tangible difference," said Dr. Monica Clem, Vice President Career Center at Teach For America. "By accessing HGSE’s resources and programs, our alumni and corps members are better equipped to take on leadership roles and create lasting impact in education across the country.”

This partnership aligns with TFA’s ongoing commitment to supporting educators beyond the classroom, offering them pathways to professional advancement and leadership in the education sector.

TFA alumni and corps members can explore these opportunities and enroll by visiting TFA’s Alumni Hub.
