Angelina Molina Takes the Helm at Teach For America California Capital Valley as Executive Director

Sacramento, CA January 23, 2025 - Teach For America today announced Angelina Molina as the next Executive Director of its California Capital Valley region, where she will oversee all aspects of the organization’s regional operations.

Teach For America recruits a diverse group of our nation’s most promising leaders to make an enduring commitment to educational equity as teachers and tutors in high-need urban and rural schools. With nearly 40 Ignite Fellows (tutors) and over 570 TFA alumni currently living and working across the California Capital Valley, the organization supports leaders dedicated to the pursuit of excellent and equitable education options for all children in the state. Working inside and outside of the classroom, this network includes alumni teachers, school leaders, and leaders of community-based organizations.

“I am beyond excited to lead the next chapter of TFA CCV as Executive Director,” said Molina. “The California Capital Valley has always been a place of community, of innovation, and of steadfast optimism in what the future holds for the next generation. With strong community partners, innovative school leaders, and nearly 600 TFA alumni, I am confident in our collective ability to demonstrate what is possible for kids when vision meets conviction.”

Molina was an Oklahoma 2012 Teach For America corps member, where she taught 3rd grade. After completing her two year corps commitment, she served in various capacities in education as a teacher, policy analyst, intervention specialist, and school administrator, where she led foundational work for a network of schools across the Bay Area. Before stepping into her role as Executive Director, Angelina served on the TFA California Capital Valley team as the Senior Managing Director of Alumni Strategy and Leadership, where she was responsible for a 67% expansion in partnerships.

Teach For America has been a community partner in California Capital Valley since 2012. This year, more than 4,000 Teach For America teachers and 2,200 Ignite Fellows will reach around 300,000 students in local public schools nationwide. Over 570 alumni of the TFA program call the California Capital Valley home; this includes 20 school and district leaders and many others working across an array of sectors to help expand educational opportunities for students and families.
