Our corps members

Teach For America corps members bring a diverse set of academic and personal experiences to the corps. While there is no specific profile of an ideal applicant, we seek individuals who have what it takes to excel as teachers and ultimately effect fundamental change in our society. All corps members have demonstrated leadership and achievement in academic, professional, extracurricular, or volunteer settings. Additionally, we believe corps members who share the racial and socioeconomic background of their students can make an additional impact, and therefore we make an effort to recruit individuals of color and individuals from low-income backgrounds.
